Precious Baby Devin, 3 Weeks New

This past weekend I had the pleasure of going down to meet our cousin's newest member of the family, Devin. Let me just say, this is one lucky little guy! He has two absolutely beautiful older sisters who will show him the ropes as he gets older, and until then they'll just dote on him because he's one of the sweetest little things ever. I couldn't get over how alert he is, too! Honestly, I think I only saw Drew's eyes a handful of times the first 3 months because he was SO sleepy -- Devin, on the other hand, seems to be the exact opposite. He was wide awake for most of the shoot and looking at everything! I can't wait to watch him as he grows -- I'm sure he and my boys have plenty of hours of playtime ahead of them!

On a side note, I had to include a picture of Maia (his three-year old sister) in the set. Right after our photo shoot, she and her mom both went to get their hair cut so that they could donate it to Locks of Love. Maia was able to donate 8 inches (can you believe it?) and her mom donated 11. This whole family is beautiful inside and out!

Tiffany and Anthony, we couldn't be happier for you guys, and Kaliya and Maia, we know Devin is in good hands with you to watch out for him. :) I hope you guys enjoy your sneak-peak!

Precious Baby Kellyn, 1 month

For my first photo shoot after Drew was born, it seemed only appropriate to do a newborn session. I was so excited to photograph sweet baby Kellyn. She was a month old for her photo shoot, and after being around my own three-month old every day she just seemed so tiny and new! Her big brother Owen is a perfect big brother, too, happy to snuggle up with her whenever we asked him to. :) Thank you, Brad and Chandler, for allowing me to come into your home to take pictures of your newest little sweetheart!

My own newborn session -- My sweet Drew

It has been awhile since my last post, but in my defense I've been pretty busy with a newborn in the house! My little Drew Martin was born on December 9th, and I have spent the past 5 weeks falling completely in love with the little guy! He is SUCH a mellow baby -- I think he still sleeps about 23 hours a day, but when he is actually awake he is so happy. I love that he has entered the smiling stage already. His brother was so serious for the first year, so it's nice to have a smiley kiddo this early in the game!

I had all these grand plans for the pictures that I wanted to take once my little Monkey was born, but I had failed to take into consideration that I might not be feeling up to taking them for the first couple weeks. I felt so fortunate to have a much smoother recovery this time around (even though this one was a c-section), but you still just don't feel up to moving around as much I typically do in a photo session for the first couple weeks. It certainly helped that Drew is such a sleepy baby because it allowed me a little extra time to get in some of those sweet curled up little newborn pictures.

I'm so grateful to be home with the boys instead of thinking about my return to work this time around. I just look at each day with them as a gift and I am loving the adjustment from one boy to two. Life is definitely GOOD in the Schumm household!

Here are some pictures of the new little man in my life from his first month!

Drew already LOVES his big brother -- Benjamin can calm him down in an instant by just singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" to him when he starts crying. I have a feeling Benjamin will have a little shadow as soon as Drew is mobile! It's funny, because Drew is the spitting image of Benjamin when Benjamin was his age, but as similar as they are in appearance they are almost opposites in temperament!

And I have to throw in a few of the pictures I took when I was taking a picture for our Christmas cards...

My Benjamin, 3 years old

So, each fall I try to find a weekend that I can go get pictures of my own little guy. This year, I took some while we were camping outside of Tincup, Colorado, which I just happen to think is the most beautiful place on the planet. It's actually a ghost town, but the cemetery up there (oddly enough) has the most spectacular views and the colors are always phenomenal each year. I ended up taking some in Denver this year, too, so there's quite a difference in color between the two spots.

I actually took these a couple months ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting them. Our new little one will be here in less than three weeks now, so I figured I should get these up before posting some of Benjamin's new little brother or sister!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

A few more of Elena...

Because I just couldn't resist. Is she not the cutest?

Elena, 8 months

As we were getting close to the date for Elena's photo shoot, we were worried that the weather would be too cold. Her mom found the most adorable tutu and hat set on Etsy just for the photos, so luckily we were able to reschedule it for the afternoon and the sun warmed everything up perfectly! Elena was such a sweetheart through the shoot, and I loved watching her interact with her mom and dad. She couldn't stop smiling at every noise and whistle they made -- it was the sweetest thing ever! Thanks Kristin and Pete for allowing me to spend the afternoon with the three of you -- I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!
