Fahrenholtz Family

What a fun family! I started out with the Fahrenholtz family on what seemed to be a beautiful Saturday morning, and it was beautiful -- and very windy! The kids were troopers through the snow, but after a little while we decided it would be best to finish up indoors. Between riding on a sled, playing with hermit crabs, and dressing up as a fairy princess, you could tell how much these four kids enjoy being together. Getting to spend a couple hours around that kind of happiness was the perfect way to start a weekend!

Christmas, 2010

Well, here it is mid-January and I'm just now posting Christmas pictures. In my defense, though, we didn't get to celebrate with my side of the family until last weekend. Regardless, it was a wonderful season! We did a lot of baking, which was fun since Benjamin could actually help with it this year for the first time. I ended up spending a lot of time at the sewing machine, too, since Benjamin decided to ask Santa for something that didn't actually exist. The ONLY thing he wanted from Santa was a Warehouse Mouse doll from the Imagination Movers show. Go figure -- the one thing Disney doesn't sell. So, I took to the sewing machine and made up the best replica I could come up with. Thankfully it was a hit, as was the castle that fits over our kitchen table (those of you who remember the Dragon Slayer post back a couple months ago will get the relevance of this). We also got to celebrate Christmas with both of our families, which was a big part of what made it so special. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season -- here's to a fantastic 2011!

Payne Family Christmas

I was lucky enough to photograph Ty a few months back when he and his parents were out visiting his Grandma and Grandpa. I can't believe how much he has grown since June! So, when they (and the rest of the family) came to visit again for Christmas I got to photograph the whole family. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, and I loved getting to meet everyone! Thanks, Beth and Wade, for the opportunity to take pictures for you all!

Kindred Family

I was so excited to get to take pictures of the Kindred family last week, but when the morning arrived for the shoot we were worried that we wouldn't be able to go through with it. It was SO cloudy out, and the clouds just seemed to be getting lower and thicker. We decided to go ahead and give it a try and I'm so glad we did! I love the effect of the clouds -- they just make you want to curl up in front of a fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa. Thanks Shannon, Greg, and Madi -- I hope you enjoy your sneak peak!

Jack, 7 months

Wow. I can't believe how quickly time flies. This sweet little man was the first person on my blog when I took his newborn pictures back in March. (Jack...now 3 weeks old) and (Sweet Little Jack, 14 days) It's so fun to see how much of his personality has developed since then -- he was so serious for us this morning, studying every leaf or piece of grass that he could get his hands on. He would just light up when mom and dad would talk to him, though, so I got to see that precious smile! Thanks, Erika and Kyle, for inviting me to take pictures for you again -- I had a great time with you all!

Benjamin, the Dragon Slayer

It would seem that we have a lot of dragons at our home that we need to get rid of. Lately, anytime Benjamin finds a mop, broom, piece of trim, or anything else that is long and thin, it instantly transforms into his sword and he is off on a brave quest to protect us from all the dragons that might be hiding in our closets. So it should not have come as any surprise to us that when I take him to the park to get some pictures he would find a stick and then go on a dragon hunt at the park, too (hence all the "sword" pictures in this set). Citizens of Boulder can rest at ease tonight; your streets are now dragon-free.
