Sammy is 6 Months Old!

I can't believe Sammy is 6 months old! It seems like just yesterday I was taking his newborn pictures! (http://kimberlyschummphotography.blogspot.com/2014/09/sweet-baby-sammy-5-days-new.html) And here he is now, sitting up, smiling, and just generally being one of the sweetest babies ever. It would be absolutely impossible to be around this little guy and not fall in love with him! He smiles all the time, but he saves his biggest smiles for his brother and sister. :) He would constantly be watching over my shoulder so he could keep his eye on them. You can tell that he can't wait to be running around and keeping up with them!

Happy 6 months, Sammy -- we love you!

 

Sweet little Bryson, 11 days new

I was so excited to meet Bryson -- he is joining an amazing family! I first found out that Bryson was on his way during my mini-sessions, when I photographed his parents and big brother, Kai. They used their mini-session pictures to announce their pregnancy, and the announcements turned out so cute! I always feel so honored to be a part of such important events in people's lives. :)

Fast-forward a few months...after having to reschedule our original newborn session because of this past weekend's snowstorm, I was finally able to meet Bryson on Monday. It's hard to believe he was only 11 days old for our session. He was so alert, and his eyes followed my camera the whole time he was awake! He started out serious, but he snuck out several smiles while I was there and even a couple "Blue Steel" looks. He was so good -- he was just so mellow and happy to take in this whole new world around him.

Welcome to the world, Lena!

This is a long-overdue post, but unfortunately I have had internet woes for the past couple weeks. However, I now have a shiny new modem and upgraded speed so there's no stopping me now! :)

With that said, meet Lena! She is a very long-awaited little girl, and she was welcomed into the world by two pretty amazing moms. She was about five weeks old when we had her session, and she was as sweet as can be. I loved seeing how alert she was -- she watched the camera like a hawk when she was awake, and even managed to fall asleep for part of the session. Through it all, she was happy and loved to hear her moms talk to her. 

Welcome to the world, sweet Lena, and congrats, Katy and Nicky -- she is absolutely beautiful!

The Sykes-Maxey family of 5!

It was fun to take family pictures for the Sykes-Maxey family again this year because there was an extra model! I can't get over how much Sam has changed just since his newborn session -- I'm pretty sure he's one of the happiest babies around! And it is so cute to see how Avery and Elijah interact with him. Avery is, as always, wonderful with him, and Elijah has warmed right up to his role as a big brother. :)

We had pretty gloomy skies for most of our session, but it was still beautiful with all the leaves. And we were pleasantly surprised to see the sun sneak out for the last five minutes!
